Pampelonne
Pampelonne, less than 30 minutes walk away from the property, or a few minutes in the car, is a 13th century bastide village on the edge of the spectacular Gorges de Viaur in the Tarn. Discover the village with its large pleasant squares, bar, restaurant, bakery, post office, grocery and butchery shops. Free live music and dancing on Wednesday evenings in July and August with the option of outdoor dining on the square.
Pampelonne is known for it's numerous beautiful hiking trails. There are many to choose from such as the spectacular Gorges du Viaur, Chateau de Thuries, Sentier des Cretes walks, all within walking distances of our house. One of our favourite walks straight from our driveway is following the winding track through the forest, which brings you out to the river and weir below. Another perfect picnic spot.
